The speed is fast and it's free, which is nice. However, no matter how many times I try to reconnect, it always connects to a server in my country and never to servers in other countries, so I would like to see an improvement.

The default Quick connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. That said, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server by disconnecting and reconnecting again, or you can upgrade to connect to a specific server of your choice.
