- Rated 3 out of 5by rptb1, 2 months agoProton Pass has an attractive front end, but few technical advantages over e.g. Firefox password manager. Most of its fancy features don't work properly. It has many false positives for "re-used passwords" and "weak passwords" making its advice meaningless. I'm hoping it develops more actual function and not just surface buzzword stuff.
Oh, and it's only "free" for basic use. They will *totally* pressure you to buy more services.Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18517525, 2 months agoGenerally very reliable and being able to access up-to-date passwords across multiple devices simultaneously is marvellous. I haven't given in 5 stars because it has a few quirks that aren't always obvious until you've gone down the wrong rabbit hole, such as seemingly losing one's passwords in the mobile app (use "force synchronization" to recover). On the other hand, Proton's help is - in my experience - excellent.

Developer response
posted 2 months agoThis is expected and is due to a recent update that included a new Proton Pass feature. This feature essentially makes it so that Proton Pass is enabled as your browser's default password management tool, in order for it not to conflict with the browser's built-in password manager since this has caused certain issues in the past. There's nothing to worry about when it comes to the privacy and security of the extension. - Rated 5 out of 5by Tolga Y., 2 months ago04.11.2024
This is an update to my review dated 28.09.2024 (Please see it below together with the developer's response):
After I wrote the below review at 28.09.2024, Proton's team contacted me and required detailed information about the bug. I provided all that I know. They were so helpful and kept contact with me. Finally the problem is totally solved. I thank the Proton for being a customer-centric organization. I, of course, keep using all Proton products and raise my rating to 5 stars.

MY REVIEW:
I pay for Proton services. However, the proton pass extension for Firefox terribly keeps logging out itself and when I try to re-sign in, it is impossible to sign in. I use Firefox 128-esr on Debian 12.7 Stable and this is the stable version. The only reason I give 3 star is that the other services of Proton is OK.
DEVELOPER RESPONSE:
Sorry to hear that. Could you share more details about the issue? What version of the Proton VPN extension, as well as your browser, do you currently have installed? Are you using any other extensions for privacy/security reasons? Contact us using the 'Feedback & Help' option with more details so we can investigate further. In the process, send us your app logs which you can find by navigating to the Proton Pass extension Settings → General, then scroll down to Application logs.
======= - Rated 5 out of 5by Kurashinno, 2 months agoI absolutely love it. And supporting Proton, now a non profit, and based in Switzerland, and founded by physicists. I just feels good to actually trust a company and really know that they're not corporate douche bags selling all my data. And it's a great product that works and syncs seamlessly across all my devices. Works way better than Nord and again, I fully trust them, which is far more rare than it ought to be nowadays.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18616659, 2 months agoWork smoothly and in love with it, but lacks integration with firefox. It doesn't have shortcuts like Bitwarden, or sidebar options.

Count me in! I've used this for about a year and have loved it. I loved it so much that I started paying for a Proton account. Don't worry; it's free if you prefer that. I just wanted the aliases, which are amazing!
