posted a month agoSorry to hear that. Could you share more details about the issue? What are the exact steps you're taking that lead to the problem? Which specific server(s) are you connected to in the process? Have you tried multiple different servers? Contact us at protonvpn.com/support/contact with more details so we can help. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18515147, a month agoThe speed is fast and it's free, which is nice. However, no matter how many times I try to reconnect, it always connects to a server in my country and never to servers in other countries, so I would like to see an improvement.

posted a month agoThe default Quick connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. That said, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server by disconnecting and reconnecting again, or you can upgrade to connect to a specific server of your choice. - Rated 3 out of 5by Davide, 2 months agoIt seems it cannot be enabled only for specific containers, to specific countries.
(this is easily possible with other VPNs via the Mozilla Container extension, if you have a SOCKS5 proxy address. to use...)Developer response

“Not active on every website or active only on this website” We didn't ask you to reinvent America. I think you are using stalling tactics because you don't want to do it. I made a comment like this for an application I don't want to name, I was directed to the website, but the website feedback form was not working. I hope I made myself clear.Developer response
posted 4 months agoWould you mind clarifying your review further? We'd be more than happy to help with anything, but we need to have a clear understanding first. Please contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support-form if you have any specific questions, concerns, or requests regarding Proton VPN. - Rated 3 out of 5by BZ, 4 months agoMostly works well on Windows 11, until your computer goes to sleep. After you wake it up, Firefox has no Internet connectivity until you close and reopen Firefox, or disable the Proton VPN extension.
Developer response:
"Sorry to hear that. Could you share more details about the issue? What version of Firefox do you currently have installed? Are you receiving any error messages after waking the device from sleep? Are you using any other extensions for privacy/security purposes? Contact us at [support form URL] with more details so we can investigate the behavior further."
My response to developer:
I filed a support request with details last week and haven't heard anything. I'm disappointed to see a response to my review here before getting a response from support. But since I'm getting a response here:
Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.4460
Firefox 132.0.2
Proton VPN 1.2.3
No error messages (unless I open up the Browser Console)
Other extensions in use include uBlock Origin and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials.
The problem immediately goes away when I disable Proton VPN after waking from sleep. I can quickly toggle the extension off and back on and Proton reconnects and everything works from that point.Developer response

- Rated 3 out of 5by Ramouz, 6 months agoI have their paid VPN. The browser version of Proton VPN is limited. It's sad. I don't like talking like this because I like their service and speed, but there are so many things missing in all their apps, such as the Windows version, Android version, and the one in browsers.
Split tunneling is lacking on all devices and none have the same features. The one on the browser has the one I want, by website, but you can't include. As in, if you only want it to run on that website. You can only exclude so that it doesn't run on that website.
The one on Windows doesn't have website but IP or apps. You can include/exclude there but we desperately need the ability to add websites there and to decide per website/app/IP if we want to include or exclude. Same on the browser extension. Same on Android.
Here in Firefox, it's also missing a favorites list and the ability to choose a default. Same on Chrome/Edge. All 3 of their apps/extensions look different and behave different and have different settings. Really bad design.
None of our settings sync so you have to set it up each time in every browser, phone, computer OS.
Missing other information and settings.
Considering the number of clients they have, servers, and money they're making, they should easily have the budget to improve and streamline them all.
Will edit review after they update. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18581894, 6 months agoAlways says "unprotected", even when VPN is active. Uninstalling for now since the software does not seem to add value.
What should happen / to improve rating.
Extension should function as expected by:
- When connected through a VPN, extension should indicate "Protected".
- When not connected through a VPN, extension should indicated "Unprotected". - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18577622, 6 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Andrew, 7 months agoНа TV Xiaomi 4s установил без проблем, ютуб теперь работает. Но на компе, чтобы скачать и установить, нужно скачать и установить любой другой ВПН и даже после скачивания и установки не удается авторизоваться, так как авторизоваться удаётся только через другой впн. Никакого смысла пользоваться нет.

L'appli de bureau est bien meilleure.

posted 7 months agoBonjour,
Le module est désormais disponible avec un compte gratuit.
Notez que le module n'a pas vocation à remplacer l'application de bureau puisqu'il n'encapsule que le trafic du navigateur, les deux outils sont complémentaires. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16231704, a year agoLeaking DNS requests. Doesnt save login data well
- Rated 3 out of 5by Alex, a year agoGood server with good speed. The add-on is not bad, but there are sometimes connection drops. The biggest disappointment is that every time me open the browser, the add-on does not create a connection automatically. Each time I have to log in to my proton account and only then manually create a connection. For comparison, the same Proton extension works flawlessly in the Google Chrome browser.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18009887, 2 years agoI see others have reported the same issue, but it is necessary to disable and reenable the extension almost every time you use Firefox. Otherwise, the browser will not load anything.
- Rated 3 out of 5by RokeJulianLockhart, 2 years agoCan't use without a subscription, unlike the OS-wide client.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13427441, 2 years agoThis extension no longer works since FF update to 115.0. Cannot surf the web any longer. Breaks the internet usage completely.
It did an excellent job before the FF update.
Reinstalling the extension or deactivating all other extensions doesn't help.
After checking again, I found out that there are only certain sites I cannot visit. One is https://www.computerbox.at/ although connected to AustriaDeveloper response
posted 2 years agoHello, I can't reproduce from my side. May I advise checking the permissions of the extensions (in about:addons) are all enabled and if still not working trying to re-install the extension? - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16118621, 2 years agoBug report: Great VPN extension, however one annoying problem. After waking my laptop from sleep, the VPN connection cannot establish itself. The only way to enable normal operation is to dis/enable the extension.
Actually two problems. When the connection is in the process of connecting, the notification already claims it is connected to xx country. So the devs issue the notification too early. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 17948934, 2 years agoIt's great to finally have an extension option for connecting to ProtonVPN, but it seems to be a little buggy.
Every few minutes I get another notification saying a VPN connection has been established. I can turn off notifications, but it seems for whatever reason it is losing and reestablishing connection every few minutes, but doesn't provide any information as to why that's the case.
