by ZA, a year agoWorks straight out of the box flawlessly. Nice to see that it's FOSS and I hope it stays that way.
Hats off to the dev for his work, you're awesome! Also, the fact it runs on a "visit" basis makes trusting it even easier. Didn't have to enable the optional option.

- Rated 5 out of 5by arboch, 6 days agoThanks for the spectacular extension and link to source code; it is highly appreciated since most other "volume control" extensions on Firefox are sketchy or outdated. Works very well.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Sev, 18 days agoNo longer works on Meta-owned sites, which are the entire reason I installed it (given Facebook videos have no volume sliders). Trying to use it on Facebook or Instagram since the latest update now causes a "This site is in the exclusions list" despite having not changed any settings on my end. I'm sure this is due to a change with Meta, but it defeats the purpose of this extension for me.

posted 16 days agoUnless it's in the exclusion list, it shouldn't display this message. Please paste your log in the github issues..... you can also temporarily downgrade to an older edition from the github releases page or the versions page on mozilla https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/volume-control-boost-volume/versions/
Hope I can help you resolve your problem and you can revise your review to 5 stars. I jut do this as a hobby. - Rated 1 out of 5by kibababa, 23 days agoWorks good but on some web sites breaks audio completely (e.g. Steam) and it's not possible to know that audio is broken unless you know it should be playing on the website. Too much hustle...
Developer response
posted 23 days agoIts because steam blocks it in their CSP, sadly lots of CDNs do.
I could individually add each one to the FQDNS list, but like you said that's a lot of hassle and it has to be reaproved by mozzila everytime etc.
The way audio source is pulled is on page load. If it's doing it too late lots of sites won't interact with the plugin. Where as its an issue on sites with strict CSP as then it just blocks audio.
So sadly there's nothing I can do about it, without further reducing compatible sites.
Could maybe make a whitelist mode instead of a blacklist mode in the future.
I hope you revise your review as it "works good" - Rated 5 out of 5by 0WfCh, a month ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Subvert, 2 months agoWouldve been a 5 star cause it does do the increase volume thing well, but for some reason it causes multiple elements on the website d2l (which i use for my college courses) to break. No clue why or how it does this, but because of this I'm forced to uninstall the extention
Developer response
posted 23 days agoIt's most likely because it interacts on page load and your site has a strict CSP. If you add it to the FQDNS list the page may then work. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18768669, 3 months agoworks just fine on for me relevant websites
BUT
blocks amazon prime and disney plus videoplayer. so in order to stream any movie on these sites i have to deactivate the extension. - Rated 5 out of 5by Roundup, 3 months agoFar better than other sound addons. Does the job, doesn't broke the pages and no ads/clickbait.
- Rated 3 out of 5by mb9023, 3 months agoWorks sometimes but often I load up a page and the video has no sound at all, especially on twitter, until I disable and re-enable the extension. Would be nice if it remembered settings too.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Peter, 5 months agoThe only one volume extension that actually could make the sound overly loud for good. But for some reason it just doesn't remember the volume setting.
Do make setting per page basis for this extension.Developer response
posted 23 days agoSadly, I was having a lot of issues implementing the ability to save the volume per page, and most videos on a page are diferent volume anyways so this is not a planned feature. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15478281, 5 months agoTERRIBLE! MAKES EVERYTHING ELSE SUPER LOUD!! I LOWERED ONE TAB AND IT MAKES EVERYTHING ELSE LOUDER. MY EARS ARE BLEEDING
- Rated 5 out of 5by Eryo, 5 months agoSimple et efficace. Garde en mémoire le réglage effectuer pour les shorts suivant contrairement a d'autre extension qui reset le volume après un Skip. Je préfère.

posted a month agoIt works but some sites have CSP rules that block it from initializing/breaks audio. Add those sites to the blocklist in the settings.- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18640104, 6 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by dehskins, 6 months agoNope. You don't want to use this app. Worked once and then muted all my tabs. Delete!
