I only miss the lookup bar. I use the lookup bar to look up words (from other programs, printed media, etc.). As a workaround, I currently use the lookup bar from Rikai-chan in Thunderbird.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 7 ansThanks for the suggestion! I'll work on adding the lookup bar back (I have a few other features to fix first, however). - Noté 2 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14249466 de Firefox, il y a 7 ansdoesn't work with touchscreen
edit: ok you're technically right so I'll change my ratingRéponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 7 ansI think that's clear from the add-on description (there is no hovering on touchscreens) so I don't think a 1/5 rating is fair.
That said, I'd like to make this support Android some day so perhaps we can address touchscreens at the same time.
Update: It now has first class support for touchscreens. - Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14212821 de Firefox, il y a 7 ansSimple and effective. Perfect.

Thank you! - Noté 5 sur 5par ゲンクロー義経, il y a 7 ansOne of the best tools (if not the best) I've used so far as many legacy add-ons became non compliant ever since. It's pretty neat, lightweight, reliable, doesn't seem to eat up your RAM as others do and It gets updates as well :) Otherwise I'd be utterly lost as I depend on it so much.
- Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13469472 de Firefox, il y a 7 ansGreat add-on.
+1 for the lookup bar. It's much faster to search for a word on the lookup bar -and be able to do it offline- than having to go to a dictionary/jisho website. - Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14175714 de Firefox, il y a 7 ansIt seems to be better than the others, but I wonder if we can get the lookup bar that rikaisama had. I used the lookup bar mainly for Kanji. If I'd like to know about a kanji I saw on a sign or something. Also, I use it to look up names. Since Kanji has a meaning, sometimes I look them up to see what names I'd like to name a character (person). I was able to see a list of names that use that kanji. I also used it as a dictionary when reading books.

Hi Mr. Birtles, I've recently updated and while it seems to work much better (thank you very much for fixing this!) I now intermittently run into an issue where the application sits in constant 'Rikaichamp loading...'. This is already noted on the Github issues tracking list however, and a simple browser restart solves it.

I will echo the sentiments of the user below this review -- I have noticed the exact same issue. The extension will not work at all until you toggle it off and back on. It is quite an aggravating issue that I'd ask the developer to please have a look at.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 7 ansI'm sorry about the problems. I hope this problem is fixed now in 0.0.16. Please give it a try! - Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13983817 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansOften when I scroll over text, this extension will do nothing until I turn it off and on again. It happens so often as to be incredibly frustrating. I really liked this extension otherwise.

Please give it a try! - Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13977066 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansIn the advent of forced updates being shoved down our throats due to some addons becoming unavailable and websites supporting legacy browsers more and more, this is a very similar alternative to the old, now outdated Rikaichan.
It gets the job done well enough and uses the same key bindings for the ones it has in common.
However, it lacks in quality of life compared to its predecessor.
There doesn't appear to be a way to change the font size with the text appearing a bit more bloated (and spaced) than I'd like, it removed the ability to put the frames in set corners on the screen using the "a" hotkey (I never used this personally, but was aware of it), and it doesn't allow you to change the order you "shift" through (always being word definition, kanji breakdown, names dictionary) like you could on Rikaichan.
The worst part would be that when switching to the names dictionary for Japanese, when there's so many options to fit on screen it will just make one super long column stretching off the screen instead of splitting it into two columns, effectively making half the options unreadable without zooming the page out by a good chunk.
In the end the important part is that if it works, though, which it does.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 7 ansThanks for the feedback? Are you able to use Github? If so would you mind filing issues for the features you need at: https://github.com/birtles/rikaichamp/issues
Otherwise, let me know and I will file the issues. - Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13648258 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansC'est super !
Merci beaucoup pour votre travail !! - Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 12814485 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansNext best thing to rikaichan. If only it didn't alter/move the original Japanese text, it would be - dare I say - better than rikaichan. Regardless, it's better than nothing. Although finicky, it does work!
Thank you very much for taking the time to port it to Quantum, Brian Birtles. Much appreciated!Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 7 ansOh, I don't know about it altering/moving the Japanese text. Do you have an example? - Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13816891 de Firefox, il y a 8 ans
