It really shouldn't the only reason it should crackle is if you turn the volume past 0db because some audio sources might peak.
Your issue of audio crackling is usually a non-grounded auxiliary or, a high memory latency / memory bug.
When I was on z97 and had my memory set to 2133mhz [a very high xmp value for ddr3] the audio constantly crackled when running certain applications. This can also be experienced when running with a lack of buffer while using an ASIO driver.
Completely unrelated to the plugin itself but maybe exacerbated by it.

If you open the popup to control the volume then on most sites that have html video it should be able to increase the volume unless the site employs a strict CSP.

The channels are not individually controlled so it shouldn't if you have issues with stereo you can employ mono.

Unless it's in the exclusion list, it shouldn't display this message. Its because steam blocks it in their CSP, sadly lots of CDNs do.
I could individually add each one to the FQDNS list, but like you said that's a lot of hassle and it has to be reaproved by mozzila everytime etc.
The way audio source is pulled is on page load. If it's doing it too late lots of sites won't interact with the plugin. Where as its an issue on sites with strict CSP as then it just blocks audio.
So sadly there's nothing I can do about it, without further reducing compatible sites.
Could maybe make a whitelist mode instead of a blacklist mode in the future.

I have just tried music.youtube.com and setting a negative db with the slider is working at lowering the volume as intended. Also typing a negative value worked for lowering the volume. Mono is also working.

Major update, required new permissions should work on basically every site now.
Do you recall what site you were on? Yes it specifies it only works with HTML audio, this is to require less permissions.
