Their entire suite is free to use including VPN, Pass manager, email and calendar if you don't want the extras involved.
Proton is an extra step for those looking for advanced protection while being unfamiliar with cyber security. Their help in securing data, accounts and anonymity from malicious attacks gives added peace of mind without any additional cost to the user.
