Proton Pass di Proton
Recensione di Blum
After a decade of using KeePass and Bitwarden, I switched to Proton Pass six months ago (used on Windows, macOS, Ubuntu and my smartphone). I'm not going back!
What I like:
- In my experience, autofill is much more consistent than other managers (with only a few rare exceptions).
- As a paid user, the "hide-my-email" alias feature is a game-changer, no need for "+ addressing", and the integration with Proton Monitor came handy a few times already.
- The vault is type-rich. I knew the usual (logins, notes, and bank cards, passwords). I though the "Other" category was just for "Misc" entries, but recently discovered it has a lot of dedicated templates (API creds, DB creds, server creds, license keys, SSH keys, Wi-Fi networks, bank account details, crypto wallets, driving licenses, medical info, memberships, passports, loyalty programs, and SSN). It is much more organized than using generic "secure notes" for everything. It feels like an actual wallet.
The only pain point:
- The passkey experience (I'm a big advocate and user of passkeys) but found the implementation to be inconsistent. While the team is helpful, I’ve found that troubleshooting these issues is quite a time-sink for a user. It often requires testing across different browsers, clearing existing keys, and starting with fresh profiles, on various browsers, just to isolate the cause. As much as I want to help improve the tool, the "investigation" process is too tedious so I stopped after a few tickets. I'm hopeful this stabilizes soon so it can be as seamless and great as the rest of the app.
Overall, the extension is great, I definitely recommend it!

Proton Pass is great. 3rd party audit also shows their security standards are "well above par" and this is coming from Recurity Labs on their audit from January - April 2026

pubblicato il un giorno faIf you're referring to the permission to access browser activity during navigation, this is related to credit card autofill. To make this feature work reliably, we need to analyze iframes on web pages.
The only way to do this properly in a browser extension is through the webNavigation frames API. Specifically, we use webNavigation.getFrame and webNavigation.getAllFrames to resolve frame URLs and parse the sub-frame hierarchy during cross-frame autofill sequences. This is exactly what this permission is used for. - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 14342527, 2 giorni fa
