di Shadowbane1992, 2 giorni faFirst time writing a review here, Firefox changing things and creating a popup I can understand isn't a fault of extension developers; However, now I'm seeing BS like "premium for raw likes and dislikes."
I didn't download this to be advertised some nonsense. There are other extensions that do the same thing, so this particular one doesn't need to clog my day to day with unnecessities.
EDIT/REPLY: No, it is not a win-win. When I look and see some ad in place of what I'm used to seeing, you've made it invasive. Do what other developer's do and have a 1 time popup upon install that says "consider donating to keep it alive!" And leave it at that.
People have Ad Blockers for a Reason. Respect it.

That is pretty much what it is. It's a one time changelog on update install. But I wanted to give something back for donations.
Closing that changelog (that only appears on browser restart, so the least intrusive time I hoped - as all extension changelogs do) is just one click
> Do what other developer's do
This extension likely has the largest database and traffic load of all extensions in the store. I.e. the highest costs to run
> There are other extensions that do the same thing
They all use my API. So if this extension dies - they all die too. This was one update message over 5 years of existence of the extension. Due to costs starting to exceed donations.
Unfortunatelly hosting ~12TB database with a load of ~20 million unique daily users costs some money. Donations died down and the extension would run out of money to function.
Existence of a new premium feature doesn't affect you in any way - you can still use it for free as you did before - and somebody else will pay to cover your costs. Isn't it a win-win?

the popup somehow also evaded my uBo filters 7 times before it stayed gone.
i really should not have updated this shit. - Works alright enough, does what it should and nothing else (so far). Wondering if there's a way to stop it requesting new permissions, for good. I don't want or need to keep having to click Cancel, and keep having the warning symbol on the menu button on every relaunch of the browser. I shouldn't have to repeat the dissent to having my data collected.
- Valutata 1 su 5di Parkreiner, 7 ore faThis is a datamining extension with persistent user IDs that track all of your YT browsing activity. I would remove it. It's not worth it at that point.
- Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 17665620, 8 ore faSad. Was a good extension but now they got greedy and want to gather your data. Why does this always happen? Every good thing ends, always...

As soon as "personally identifying information, browsing activity, website content, website activity" exists, so does the value of the app for someone who wants that information.
I hardly think it is review bombing when people give a formerly good app a bad rating. Sure you can ignore this new version and not update, but it is unavoidable on a new device.
All good things come to an end, and if it is getting too expensive now, the costs will only rise until he either sells or stops. the reasons don't matter, the intend doesn't matter, asking for our trust... we've all heard that song and dance before.
F - Valutata 1 su 5di cyberchunk, 16 ore fagoing to keep with the old version so firefox doesn't decide to snub your data, i did also hear that there was apparently premium stuff locked into the extension, which while i can understand to some extent, it is incredibly strange how it wasn't announced or even brought up for update info.

- This addon has a bug that prevents auto-translated CCs from working. It also has ridiculous monetization as of September 2026.
*Edited from 2 to 4 Stars after reading the Developers response. I see monetization in it's current state, that is in the manner that it is presented, as an issue regardless of the circumstances. I would return to using this addon if whenever I install it again I find that CCs have gotten fixed.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 20 ore fa"ridiculous monetization" is 1 changelog message on browser restart in 5 years. You can close and never see again. I understand that it is annoying - and I sincerely wish this wasn't needed. But the price of running the extension exceeded the donations that it was receiving - so I decided to add a new optional feature - that some people might find useful - and these people will cover the costs for the rest of us. Hopefully.
Regarding CCs - I received 2 more similar reports, but so far I couldn't reproduce or fix it. Working on it. - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 19722038, 21 ore faHow is this still working? I thought recently youtube removed dislikes in their backend.
