Premium features are there to cover cost of handling servers for 20 million people - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Alt_F4, 4 godziny temuHmm... I'm not sure about the recent permission changes, but I will choose to believe your words that it's because of Mozilla's new requirements. Leaving a 5 star to combat the review bombing.
That being said, it would be a good idea to make the reasons for the change more public and widespread. It is very easy to misunderstand your intentions.
EDIT: Upon deeper research, it seems the fault mainly lies in Modzilla and their abrupt new changes. I'm sorry this upsetting situation has happened to you.Odpowiedź autora
Data: 4 godziny temuIt's not even "fault", it's just a bit of unfortunate choice of words. They don't tell people that I only access YouTube, and on YouTube - I only use a randomly generated UserId - to track votes.
From the notice it looks like now I'm collecting all the data on all the sites - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 20158568, 4 godziny temuI don't care if Mozilla recommends it or if you super pinky promise not to collect more than is needed for the addon to function. The permission is far too broad for me to ever accept it.
EDIT: You can make whatever excuse you want. The permission is too broad. Piss off.Odpowiedź autora
Data: 4 godziny temuIt's not a super pinky promise - it's stated in the extension permissions - it has access only to YouTube.
And as for the the rest - it's opensource, so anyone can check (and verify that you download the same code from the FF store) - Ocena: 1/5Autor: JayQ, 5 godzin temuNew update - 09/11/2026 -it now collects personal information - Uhhhhhh no thanks. Never worked for me anyways.

New update - it now collects personal information and spams advertising for a "premium" version.
Ruined extension.
Delete and report.
They are scamming us by using the Mozilla recommendation system.Odpowiedź autora

The problem is that most people imagine that I use their emails\names\etc. I do not.
And even this random user ID can be disabled in the settings. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 18650669, 6 godzin temu

Data: 8 godzin temuThanks for sharing your concerns about the data RYD uses.
The extension is actually recommended by Mozilla, so they do not consider it harmful or dangerous.
RYD hasn’t changed how it handles your data. What changed is how Mozilla labels these permissions - not what the extension does with your data.
The extension only uses the data it needs to show dislikes and count votes.
Its site permissions cover YouTube and its own API at returnyoutubedislikeapi.com. RYD doesn’t read other websites, and these site permissions cannot be used to access them.
Here’s what those permissions mean:
Personally identifiable information - RYD’s randomly generated, anonymous user ID, used to count votes. This isn’t your Google or YouTube account.
Browsing activity - opening the next YouTube video, so the extension can send its video ID and fetch the new dislike count.
Website content - things like the visible like count, which helps calculate dislike estimates.
Website activity - clicking Like or Dislike.
Again, this is about YouTube activity. The extension isn’t watching everything you do across the internet - it simply can’t do that with these site permissions.
The new labels can sound scary, but they don’t give the extension access to more websites.

I haven't seen a single AD since like 2010 when browsing these sites and I haven't installed a spam extension on my browser since the 90s, I'm not going to get popups over a like/dislike button.
Stop spamming and remove premium garbage from UI by default for people who don't want it (that is, before the option is toggled). Don't add premium advertising popups to ruin AD-free experience of users who don't browse web on garbage mobile phones (and thus are used to such nonsense).
I installed this extension for fun, it doesn't add anything to my experience and is not crucial enough for me to get spammed by ADS by one extension out of all others I use.Odpowiedź autora
Data: 15 godzin temu> There's a pointless premium panel taking up space
You can close the panel with one click on the x in the top right corner. It also shows raw dislike counts to free users, which was a requested feature.
> I installed this extension for fun, it doesn't add anything to my experience and is not crucial enough for me to get spammed by ADS by one extension out of all others I use.
That's fair - it's up to you whether the extension is useful enough for you to keep using or support.
Being free to use doesn't make it free to run. I still have server costs to cover, and the paid features help cover those costs. Supporting it is entirely your choice, but I do need a way to keep it running. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Taygar, 16 godzin temuFirst time leaving a comment, was feeling uncertain about the new permission so I was hesitant to update but after checking sources and reading reviews I choose to trust you and leave a five-star review to support in wake of the review bombing

Data: 16 godzin temuUnfortunatelly hosting ~12TB database with a load of ~20 million unique daily users costs some money. Donations died down and the extension would run out of money to function.
Existence of a new premium feature doesn't affect you in any way - you can still use it for free as you did before - and somebody else will pay to cover your costs. Isn't it a win-win?
