I dont care if it is open source, that doesnt give you a pass to spy. I dont feel safe having this installed any further. You dont need those permissions!

a permission to access youtube and returnyoutubedislike are not needed for the extension to work?
Nothing in the extension changed - it’s open-source, so you can verify that yourself. What changed is how Mozilla labels privacy-related permissions.
The extension only uses an anonymous, randomly generated ID, and the id of the video that you liked/disliked.
• YouTube access - needed to read the current video ID and show its dislike count.
• RYD API access - needed for API requests and diagnostics.
• Online/activity data - viewing, liking, or disliking videos.
• Personally identifiable information - RYD’s random private user ID used to count votes, not your real identity.
• Website content - mainly the video ID.
The new labels sound scary, but they describe the same data the extension has always used. - Vlerësuar me 1 yje nga 5 të mundshëmnga DslP, 2 orë më parëThe new update is probably AI generated after months of inactivity the dev pushed an enormous 39,880 lines of code in their repo.I hope we get a clarification, until this uninstalled

postuar më 2 orë më parëThe 39,880 figure includes the entire repository update: about 85% of those additions are automated tests and test infrastructure, which aren’t shipped with the extension.
The actual source changes in that commit are 3,580 lines added and 755 removed across the extension and userscript. - Vlerësuar me 1 yje nga 5 të mundshëmnga 17220816 përdoruesi Firefox-i, 2 orë më parë

This update is due to Mozilla. Keepa extension had the same update. Stop crying for things you don't understand. RYD is open-source, so it's even less shady than Keepa.

•Developer is spying❗❓ Because the new (7 September 2026) data collection requirements are a dangerous agreement.
Previously, only the following was required:
•Access to your data for websites in the youtube.com domain
•Access to your data for returnyoutubedislikeapi.com
Now the developer wants to know far too much about you❗
⚠ Data collection required, according to the developer:
•Online activity
•Personally identifiable information
•Activity on websites
•Website contentPërgjigje zhvilluesi

Then all of a sudden some of my youtube videos started having disgusting buffering issues (similar to when you have 2mbps internet), and refusing to buffer unless the video was paused. EXTREMELY annoying. Disabled this addon, and the problem was sorted. Fix this please. Once this issue is resolved i'll be more than happy to update with 5 stars.
