Amazing concept, but sadly its just a rushed port from Chrome, nothing really works properly. Calculator, Pomodoro timer, Incognito Button, Site Blocker... deleting widgets... even dragging to select text in any field... all non-functional. No option to make custom widgets like e.g, background for the clock.
I really really wanted to use this, but its completely broken and abandoned, with the developer seemingly taking interest in their new AI slop paid extension instead. I would suggest making this extension open source so others can continue it. Regardless, some suggestions:
Features:
1. An option to create a links folder widget, with the source being a specified bookmarks folder. That could be a folder inside the bookmarks bar, or the entire Bookmarks Menu, or whatever. This would really set it apart because you could FINALLY have the same widget/shortcuts on mobile/desktop. This is the one thing all NTPs miss that they really need!
2. No import/export config to file? The one thing most NTPs seem to not implement, which is a dealbreaker for me :(
3. I also like having random nature wallpaper every 2 hours... but the clock time doesn't dynamically adjust colour based on background, so sometimes its visibility is poor... would be great to add this
4. A feature to only show nature pics relevant to the current season would be great (e.g, snowy mountains in winter, leaves in autumn, nice grass in summer) but I understand thats probably not a cheap or easy feature to do.
5. An option to open current wallpaper source (wallhaven.cc link) would be great!
Bugs:
1. When I do a new window with CTRL + N, it shows the default firefox page... I have to do CTRL + T to see the Casca page.
2. I also can't do CTRL + T and start typing quickly - after a second or two, it redirects the new tab to Casca, and i lose what i typed...
3. NTP just appears blank in incognito...
4. Above 3 points make extension feel really clunky/heavy. Also on NTP theres this big banner in the URL bar saying its Casca. Feels more like a custom website than actually part of the browser.
