I have no idea what that other user is talking about this works like the extension is suppose .. no permissions needed, what you type in the URL automatically goes to SearchGPT with search turned on (if you have login). Even without login it works correctly. The other one (and I tried the older ones as well) has not been updated and does not work correctly I have a feeling other "reviewer" is the dev of the ext LOL :-P

Anyway great job, this is what openai should have released in the first place!

This extension functions as intended, with no unauthorized data access—despite concerns raised by other "user" suggesting otherwise. Users are encouraged to verify for themselves: you can download the XPI file and inspect the code directly. Instead of relying on competing developers...I mean user... promoting their own alternatives, some of which may be less reliable, users can see the facts firsthand. Don’t let fear, uncertainty, or doubt cloud your judgment; this extension remains a solid, dependable choice.

Another extension, apparently identical to this one, needs no permissions. So it worries me that this one requires permission to "Access your data for sites in the chatgpt.com domain" (from Firefox when installing).

The developer responded to my first review (which was deleted?) that it isn't true that the extension requires this. However, this is what firefox tells me before installing. If this is proven to be a mistake, I will of course correct this review.

I have now left out the name of the similar extension to avoid suspicion about any possible affiliation (which I do not have).

LOL, I can't delete reviews... only you can. I already responded to you the first time, but I'll type slower for you this time. It seems you don’t understand how extensions work—this takes no data. If you don’t want to use it, that’s fine; you can stick with the non-functional extension you seem to prefer. For someone who claims to be 'just a user,' you seem to have plenty of time to review and promote someone else's extension (which I'm sure you have no connection to 😜).

I've clearly explained in the comments and description that no data is 'taken'—the only data that goes anywhere is within ChatGPT. Feel free to use the other extension you keep mentioning (and don't worry, I won't review-bomb it like you're doing here… lol).

By the way, if you actually understood how extensions work, you could download the file and inspect the code yourself. Don't worry just keep using that non-working one.
