I would give this extension 1 star, but I can't. Because this is the only one extension, which works for saving and restoring sessions for Firefox. There is no alternative.
I can't give 5 stars however, because extension is very buggy and looks like not even tested by developer properly.
Obvious issues are:
1) If you move tabs between windows - then session tracking gets screwed up Tab Session Manager cannot save this session anymore. Nothing helps. I tried disable/enable back extension. I tried remove extension from Firefox and re-install it back. Nothing helps. Moving tabs between windows is Firefox core functionality. Also its possible to move tabs between private windows. This makes it impossible to organize tabs across multiple windows when using Tab Session Manager.
2) Tab Session Manager export-import extension settings - doesn't work properly. After you import settings you notice that many options are not respected by export and do not restore back. A lot to list them all, but for sure I remember: theme, auto-save intervals, backup and other options.
3) Keyboard shortcuts for saving sessions - do not work at all. No matter which key combination, I tried everything. Only one shortcut works - open extension menu drop down.
4) Bug in intervals. If you set interval to 60 minutes - nothing gets saved every hour. I had to set to 50 minutes because of this.
5) If tracking is screwed up because any unknown reason - then it's impossible to reload extension and re-capture current session and it will always fail to save current session.
But what really works great is regular popup that asks about donations.
I would happily donate, but currently I am not aware if developer cares at all about above mentioned issues, whether those will get fixed.

I think I did something that fixed it, or it fixed itself and I was able to get all my stuff back (thought I am unable to recreate what I did).
But now it has happened again and this time it does not seem recoverable. The export option in the extension settings does not even work.
Not reliable, wish I could rate it higher but I am now screwed because of this. So much time will need to be wasted to get all my research and prep work back.
Find an alternative that doesn't break/wipe itself as much and has more reliable backup methods. - 评分 3 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14291709， 5 天前Absolutely love this add-on! But the default settings are pretty frustrating, only saving the last 10 sessions and auto-saving every 15 minutes...
For some reason, my custom settings reset to default once or twice a year. It could be my mistake, but just two hours of not noticing can wipe out all previous saves.
It’d be much less of a headache if the default values were a bit higher, like saving at least 50 sessions and auto-saving every 30 minutes. That way, we’d have a little buffer. - I loved this extension, it did exactly what I needed it to, but the "open" button has suddenly stopped working. I tried removing and reinstalling the extension but I have no way of opening sessions anymore. I can only click on each link one by one. If this is fixed, I'll revise my review.
- 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 19078191， 12 天前Documentation / Readme is insufficient. Cannot see what the Tab Session Manager is actually supposed to do and how to use it. What makes it worse, is the author's poor command of the English language. In Settings, file paths are not shown, and apparently cannot be set. All in all the whole thing seems too complicated to me. On top, when experimenting to make sense of the extension, it repeatedly crashes and takes the browser with it. A waste of time.

- I had been using it for a long time without issues, it saved me 2-3 times; but yesterday my computer crashed. My waterfox session file must have been corrupted and it restored it from the recovery one (previous.json) that is somehow 2 months old (thank you mozilla for not updating it more frequently). I immediately went to tab session manager to restore; but surprise surprise, all the backups are gone. At some point it seems the automatic backup feature stopped working and somehow even the older sessions disappeared. Idk if it was a browser update, error or that they were older than X and automatically deleted.
TLDR, even having this extension enabled to prevent the loss of my session, I still lost my session. I will either look for an alternative extension and/or start backuping the session file manually. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 19038938， 1 个月前20250607 It does the job as it should! No complaint, till today that it double saves my open tabs. For example, if i have 2 windows and 50 tabs on each, it saves and opens 4x windows and 200 tabs. I use this extension for a long time now (years), without complaint. I don't know if it's firefox's fault or the extension (probably a firefox thing). Please take a look at this Sienori, thank you!

It doesnt save sessions like it says it does but this one I installed and BOOM, So easy to click on it and choose save session, thank you!

I use STG all the time, so unfortunately until this bug is sorted, TSM is a non-starter for me. Which is unfortunate because it is highly recommended and I would like to use it. (P.S.: I run a Mac using Monterey so quite old, nevertheless, this post is accurate as at 2025-05-08.)
- Works really well. I would like functionality to name windows and have that title persisting after saving and restoring a window or session. I'm using extension Window Titler that prefixes the name of the window with [MyTitle], followed by the name of whatever tab is currently open (so window title changes dynamically). That functionality is perfect, but that title is obviously lost when window is saved.
