- Rated 1 out of 5by SedUz, 5 months agoAbsolute rubbish. I had to disable 30 good firefox security extensions to find out this one causes to brake addons.mozilla.org rating functionality. And it was impossible to see this from scriptsafe-ff extension menu!
I am removing this extension, useless and harmful - brakes sites, impossible to quickly find out and fix it. Can't be used. Don't waste time on this. - Rated 1 out of 5by Maleficient, 3 years agoCan you give an explanation of what this extension does ?
At the time of writing, there is no indication of this !

The answer is : « scramble to know ! »
Creating an extension and giving no explanation of what it does, inviting guesses, is surprising.
Since this is a reworking of someone else's work, a fork then, this is what the original author says :
https://www.andryou.com/scriptsafe/changelog
An extension that gives users control of the web and more secure browsing while emphasizing simplicity and intuitiveness :
- whitelisting/blacklisting functionality and granular control
- protection against fingerprinting (e.g. canvas)
- protect against WebRTC leaks
- automatic auto-syncing of settings AND whitelist/blacklists across your devices (via Google Sync)
- actually speeds up browsing because it blocks a lot of unwanted content from being downloaded
- remove : SCRIPT ; OBJECT ; EMBED ; IFRAME ; FRAME ; APPLET ; AUDIO ; VIDEO ; NOSCRIPT ; and IMG elements, as well as webbugs.
- block unwanted content (MVPS HOSTS, hpHOSTS (ad / tracking servers only), Peter Lowe's HOSTS Project, MalwareDomainList.com, and DNS-BH – Malware Domain Blocklist are integrated !)
- block click-through referrer data
- spoof referrer/user-agent/timezone data
- block unwanted cookies
- "intuitive" icon that changes based on whether or not a page is whitelisted/blacklisted/bypassed
- shows number of blocked/removed items in toolbar
- shows blocked/allowed items in tab details popup (along with item type)
- bulk import domains into whitelist and blacklist
- option to temporarily allow a page/temporarily allow all blocked items
- choose the default mode (Block All or Allow All)
- option to preserve same-domain elements
- option to disable automatic refresh of pages after whitelisting/blacklisting/temp. bypassing a page
- support for IPv6 addressesDeveloper response
posted 3 years agoThanks for compiling/copying the information out of Changelog June 30, 2016.
Unfortunately your Text is partly wrong, probably through using outdated information or misinterpretation.
Those features are mostly optional and the optional Sync uses Firefox sync as for the storage.sync API. (This Addon Version is currently only maintained for Firefox Browser) You are also welcome to have a in depth look at the actual source code provided on github and as linked on this page for future references.
