- Rated 2 out of 5by Blue, 3 years agoExtremely finicky and buggy extension. A year and many versions later, Touch ID STILL randomly goes away as an option to open the browser extension, not on only on Firefox but also on other browsers. I used to have to open the desktop app to open or use the extension, or disable then enable the extension. Now doing so doesn't help. And yes, Touch ID is selected in settings. What's the use of th Touch ID option if it randomly doesn't work? The extension is good when it decides it wants to work.

Looking forward to hearing from you. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15154966, 3 years agoThe principle of 1 password is great. However, i find it difficult to get my relatives to use it because of the severe learning slope. The differences between the apps on various platforms make explanations difficult, and the differences between app and extensions is practically impossible to explain. Most relatives use their own local app of 1Password (6, 5 or even 4)...and migrating to the newer version is too much of an effort. People don't have enough time to spend 30-45 minutes to learn the new version, get confused because they are accustomed to the old version and things are different, and give up, trash the new version and go back to what they are accustomed to. (BTW the same reaction explains the persistence of older MS Windows OS.)

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17364925, 3 years agoThis add-on used to be fine, but recently if you try to edit a password through it, it opens up the edit page on the web, instead of just doing it a pop-up for the add-on (as it used to) or through the app (which would also be fine).
I have 1password installed so I shouldn't have to do things in the web interface.Developer response
posted 3 years agoHi there,
Thank you for your review.
I apologize for any disruption to your workflow, when you edit an item from the pop up in your browser the expected behavior is for your 1Password app to open.
I would recommend a restart of your computer as it sounds like 1Password in your browser may be having a hard time connecting with your desktop app.
If this doesn’t help, please drop an email to support+x@1password.com where our team will assist you further :) - Rated 1 out of 5by Rob Seib, 3 years agoContinuous Sync problems. Extension randomly stops syncing with vault and even uninstalling and reinstalling does not sync it. Upon contacting support, they had me do a whole rigmarole with settings and log out and in, and it started syncing temporarily and then stopped again. Just give us a sync button.
When I log into the extension it opens the web vault and requires me to log into that as well. Sometimes even requires a third login to the desktop app. Requires a log in every time I edit an entry.Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by pottmi, 3 years agoThis extension is for use with a membership but 1password directs people to this extension for use with their desktop app. They have now hidden the extension for use with the desktop app. 1password seems to have turned into some click bait company.

posted 3 years agoHi there,
If you still have local vaults in the desktop app, you’ll want to install 1Password Classic in your browser instead: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/
We are currently trading in standalone licenses and are offering generous discounts on 1Password memberships to users who have been using our licensed version of 1Password. Please drop an email to support@1password.com so our team can discuss the benefits :) Developer response
